Snap to Item and Auto-Hide

What is new in iPadOS 17? Apple is coming up with a game-changer in the eye-tracking industry! Don't miss the Snap to Item function and Auto Hide!

Why are these two features so essential?

Snap to item:Snap to item (1)

The “Snap to item” feature converts supported buttons into a "magnetic" cell in which the cursor and the information visible on the screen are drawn. When looking at a cell with fit to element, the cursor "disappears" and becomes a highlight of the entire cell, adjusting to the size and shape of the cell.

This feature is beneficial to all types of gaze users, and creates a "made for gaze" feel in every application in which it is used. It stabilizes the eye experience and eliminates distractions from cursor movement, providing a more natural and positive experience, more precise control of all spaces, and enabling the use of applications that were previously limited by previous integration. Users have a much more positive and satisfying experience due to the increased fluidity of use.

Auto-Hide:2024_05_Auto-Hide Stars

Auto-hide makes the cursor invisible for a set amount of time. This ensures that the user is not distracted while reading, watching videos or playing the game. It is recommended for all beginners to avoid drafting the cursor.

When playing games, we found the Auto-Hide feature to be very useful. Take a close look at the image on the right. With the Auto-Hide function turned off, the cursor is always visible, which can be distracting and disruptive. However, when the Auto-Hide feature is activated, users are not bothered by the cursor at all. After focusing on a specific point for a moment, the pointer will appear, and the dwell time will start counting until you perform a click and the star appears in this specific case.
