Hardware
Before you begin, make sure your hardware is properly set up by connecting your Hiru camera according to the instructions provided here.
Software
There are several software options available for use, with the most popular choices among our users being:
- Easy Click for full access to the computer
- Mind Express 5 for communication, access, environmental control, education, and learning activities
- Grid 3 for communication, access, and games
For some of these programs, we have provided recommended settings specifically designed for users who are experts and independent users of eye gaze technology ⬇️

Easy Click is a user-friendly computer control software that enables individuals to navigate the entire interface using only their eye gaze.

Mind Express is a powerful communication tool designed to assist individuals with communication disorders, providing them with the means to express themselves effectively and independently. This innovative software enables users to communicate seamlessly through various channels, including sending emails, texting messages, making phone calls, and interacting on social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp. Mind Express offers an intuitive interface that allows users to navigate and utilize these functions with ease only by their eye gaze.
In addition to its communication capabilities, Mind Express also facilitates environmental control, empowering users to manage their surroundings effortlessly. This means that users can operate devices such as lights, televisions, and other smart home equipment directly through the software, enhancing their overall independence and quality of life.
💡Recommendation for Independent User:
Page set: Amego and Alpha Core
Amego features a fully functional communication keyboard, a bank of saved phrases for quick messaging, and the ability to interact with mobile phones and social media. It also offers an email option with a screen layout optimized for eye gaze input for a smooth experience. For enhanced communication speed, we recommend the Alpha Core keyboard within Mind Express, which includes frequently used phrases to reduce typing time.
⚙️ Menu > Settings > Access > Eye tracking
Eye monitor settings:
- Camera image: Camera image
Calibration settings
- Calibration: 9 or 16 points
- Speed: Fast
Select: Dwell selection
- Dwell time: 1 s
- Dwell indicator: Shrinking dot (small)
- Color: Same color as the color of the visual indicator
- 💡 Set up a shorter time for typing on the keyboard -> Show more dwell times > Dwell time 2: 0,7 s
Indicator options:
- Visual indicator: Border
- Color: Same color as the color of the dwell indicator
External zoom:
- Start magnification: 0.7 s
