Here you will find the recommended settings for an independent user of Hiru with the iPad.
Goal: Access and communication
Activities: Communication apps, all Apple apps
This setup allows a user to access all features of the iPad to work, play, communicate, and more.
This configuration seeks to maximize the number of icons available to the user, so they can perform the widest variety of actions possible.


Edgar is a student of dual degree in Mathematics and Physics at the prestigious Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. He is using Hiru and the iPad for access to the software like MATLAB, LaTex, social networks and more. Set up your iPad the similar to Edgar!
Recommended customization:

Assistive touch menu:
Add all 8 actions and use second-level menus. Don't forget to add the App Switcher, Scroll menu, Dwell menu, and Home button to your AT menu, a shortcut to the most often-used app.
Calibration: Calibrate with 9 or 16 points
Hot corners: Use all 4 hot corners 
Auto Hide: ON Time: 0.25 s
Dwell Time: 0.75 s
Idle opacity: 30 % for less distraction but always good visibility of the menu.
Custom actions: Active
Widgets: Use widgets for fast access to favorite webpages or apps
Fallback action: Make sure to set your Fallback Action to "Tap" and remember that you can enable/disable actions in one of the hot corners or under the Dwell menu. Disable it when you need a continuous action, except for Tap.
