How to update Hiru firmware on the iPad? How to update the Hiru App?

We are constantly working on improving and developing our software and hardware. With each new update, we bring a variety of enhancements that aim to improve your eye gaze experience. These improvements include better eye detection in different environments, increased connection stability, enhanced robustness, improved design, and a better overall user experience. 

To achieve this, we highly recommend that you always have the latest versions of the following:

• Hiru Firmware (camera)
• Hiru App (in general all software you are using)
• Operating system (make sure you have iPadOS 17 or higher)

Update available

When a new version of the Hiru App or Hiru firmware is available, you will receive a small red notification on the Hiru App icon, similar to how you receive notifications for emails or messages. This notification serves as a reminder to update your software and hardware for a better eye-gaze experience.

Hiru firmware update

When the update of the camera is available inside the Hiru App orange button with Update Hiru appears. Click on it and follow the instructions.

Make sure:

• You have internet connection 
• You have at least 50% battery 
• You keep the Hiru App open during the update process
• You have set up the Sleep mode to "Never"
• Keep in mind that you cannot use Hiru during the update process

Wait patiently until you receive a message confirming a successful update and click on the arrow to go back to Hiru App menu. You can also check the current version of your Hiru firmware here or in the section About inside of the Hiru App menu.

Hiru App update

When an update for the Hiru App is available, you will receive a pop-up window as soon as you open the app. You will have the option to update at that moment by clicking on "Update now" (make sure you have an internet connection). Clicking this button will take you to the App Store, where you can click on the "Update" button.

If you're not ready to update immediately, you can choose the "Remind me later" option, which will remind you to update the Hiru App the next day.

If you decide not to update in the next few days, you can select "Cancel". In this case, no pop-up window will appear the following day, but you always have the option to go to the App Store and update your Hiru App there.
